Prashanth began investing in Indian technology start-ups (as early as 2004) much before they acquired global attention.

He started his investing career as co-founder of Erasmic, one of India’s first early-stage funds. Before that, Prashanth co-founded NetKraft and established it as one of the leading offshore solutions companies focusing on the retail and healthcare verticals. At Accel, his primary focus is on consumer Internet services, online marketplaces, and SaaS. He has led investments in Indian technology start-ups like Agrostar, BlueStone, BookMyShow, CaptainFresh, Clevertap, EatFit, FabHotels, Homelane, Infra.Market, MindTickle, Rentomojo, TeaBox, and many more. Prashanth is actively involved in social entrepreneurship ventures that work to improve livelihoods and the quality of India’s environment.

More recently, responding to the Covid Pandemic along with other Venture Capitalists, co-founded the 500 Cr ACT Grants fund to provide financial support to start-ups working on ready to deploy disruptive scalable solutions to combat Covid Prashanth studied Computer Sciences at the Bangalore Institute of Technology, and subsequently received his M.S. from University of Delaware, and Ph.D. from Mysore University.
