Mayur has been in the Private Equity space for the last decade. He founded and currently runs a Healthcare focused PE fund called Somerset Indus Capital Partners focused on investments in products and services platforms in the SME sector of Healthcare in India. The fund focuses on responsible investments with a well established ESG framework that create strong and sustainable impact in the healthcare sector especially in the lower tier markets and provide access to affordable quality healthcare in India. The fund has a strong track record of making several successful investments and exits across Pharma, Lifesciences, Medical Technology, Diagnostic products and Services, Healthcare Delivery, Primary Care, Digital Health, Nutrition and Wellness and is currently making investments from its second fund.

Mayur has over 25 years of experience in Healthcare/ Pharma and FMCG and has worked in various roles like Private Equity, Strategy, Advisory Services, Operations, Manufacturing and Marketing in this sector. He has a strong network across the Indian Healthcare sector at the Senior Management Level . He has also built startups in the areas of Medical Devices and Stem Cell Banking and Research.

He has also been involved in the Healthcare Innovation/ start up space wherein he has mentored several healthcare entrepreneurs and is on the evaluation panel of BIRAC BIG grant which is the Indian Government Biotech/ Med Tech incubator program. He is on the Advisory Board of SINE (IITB Incubator) as a mentor as well as on the Healthcare Investment committee of SINE. He is a co-lead of the Healthcare Special Interest Group (SIG) of the IIT Bombay Alumni Association. He serves on the global board of Equalize Health which is a non profit focused on maternal and neonatal care in India and Africa. He is also an Advisor with BETIC - the Med Tech incubator of IIT Bombay. He is also a member of the Innovation Council of IIT Bombay and part of the board of "Foundation for Center for Healthcare Entrepreneurship" of IIT Hyderabad.

Mayur has been involved with the educational sector by being a Board Member of a ICSE school Vidya Vikas Academy in Margao, Goa. He, also, currently serves on the Board of Directors of the IIT Bombay Alumni Association.
